“Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart be courageous. Wait for the Lord.” (Psalms 27:14)
Waiting…
Not. An. Easy. Task.
I don’t know about you, but being patient is not something that comes naturally for me. I think it’s in our nature to want results and want them quickly. When we don’t, we tend to get anxious. The more impatient we become, the less we depend on God and His timing.
The waiting is very hard when we pray and ask God to answer us. His response may not be very quick and it may not be exactly what we’re expecting. However, His plan and His timing are exactly what we need.
Remember, that God is there in the waiting. He’s there to reassure you that He’s in control and has great things in store for you. Trust in Him and wait for the wonder of His plan.
Reflect and journal your answers to the questions below.
- Is there something right now that you’re waiting on God for?
- What’s the hardest thing you’ve had to wait for? How did you get through it?
- Describe a time when God gave you an answer that wasn’t what you were expecting? When did you realize it was an answer?
- Have you had a time of waiting that made you feel stronger? Describe how God grew you in the process.
- What can you do to help you through the stages of waiting? Ask God to direct you through your time of waiting.
Friends, I pray you find endurance from the Lord to help you through the wait. I also pray that you grow and come out of the time of waiting stronger and closer to God.
