Watched the news lately? Heard the daunting reports of what’s going on in our world? I’m sure you have, and I’m sure you’ve also felt exhausted by it all.
Do you feel like you need a good “pick-me-up” to keep you moving forward? I most definitely do.
I’m not talking about a cup of coffee either. I really love coffee, don’t get me wrong. I look forward to my daily cup (or, five) of joe, but that’s not what really gets me through each day in this broken world.
It’s something much bolder, much more refreshing and completely capable of keeping me focused on what truly matters.
Faith in God should look something like that cup of coffee we consume daily. It should be bold and refreshing, keep us alert and awake to truth, and be a daily “fix” we depend on completely.
The Bolder, The Better
I don’t know about you, but I have no patience or desire for a weak cup of coffee. If it doesn’t look extra dark and give me an instant “kick,” it shouldn’t even be consumed.
Our faith should be extra bold as well. If we have weak faith, that flees with challenges and discomfort, it won’t do a whole lot to help us out. It won’t give us strength or help us to see the truth clearly. We’ll also be more likely crumble under the lies and struggles we’re faced with.
Just like coffee takes extra grounds to make it rich and strong, our faith also needs extra tending. We have to continually work on our faith and look for ways to continually build it up. The more we invest in prayer, reading God’s Word and depending on His strength, the bolder our faith becomes.
Since we have such a hope, we are very bold.
2 Corinthians 3:12
The bolder our faith, the better. We can trust more, depend more and stay more hopeful when we build up our faith in God. Despair and darkness won’t overcome us when we choose God first.
Daily Fix
I drink coffee daily, and usually multiple cups. I know coffee isn’t everyone’s thing, but we all have a vice, or something we consume regularly. As much as I love my coffee, it doesn’t compare to my relationship with the Lord. God satisfies me and fills me up in a way that coffee never could.
The only “fix” any of us really need is God. As we draw near to Him, learn from His Word and abide in His presence, we see the complete necessity of our relationship with Him. He gives us everything, and He helps us navigate through absolutely anything that comes our way.
It’s essential to seek the Lord every single day. We recharge our “batteries” and fill up our “cup” with what we really need. His truth, love and grace consume all the places coffee or any other worldly thing could never touch.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
Romans 15:13
Refill on Faith
The world is turning more and more grim. Darkness is surrounding us more than ever. Life in this broken world is feeling heavier and more weary, but we have hope. It’s a hope that we can trust in completely and depend on as we move on in our days ahead.
My coffee cup is refilled throughout the day, but something I really need a refill on is my faith. There is access to unlimited refills on that and we need to take full advantage. God gives us endless opportunities to stop and reset. To recharge and keep moving.
There’s no exact amount of how much faith we can have or even need. We just need full dependence on the One we have faith in. He is in control and nothing in our lives or in the world takes Him by surprise. God knows what we need and when we need it. All we have to do is ask Him.
It’s imperative that we fully trust in Him, and remember He is our Comforter, our Guide, our Healer and our Father. His love is never-ending and His strength will alway be more than we could ever need.
We will face hard times. We are right now. The world is shifting constantly and so much of what’s happening around us is senseless and full of evil and sin. There’s no need to fear or allow panic to settle in. With our faith fully invested in God, there’s simply no room for those things.
God gives clarity to confusion. He gives peace to panic. He gives strength to the shattered. He gives hope to heartache. All we must do is remember to have faith in Him. Faith that is constantly being refilled. Faith that is bold and gives us courage to do what’s right. Faith that refreshes our soul when we’re weary and confused. Faith that overcomes anything this world throws our way.
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
