I’ve used various prayer journals in the past, and many have been great. One thing I don’t like, however, is that they are set up with the same prompts each day. Prayer shouldn’t be confined to a set template each day. Prayer is simply conversation and praise to our Creator and Savior.
Each day, your prayers may look and feel a little different. Some days, you might simply desire to share gratitude for all the Lord does, is, and has blessed you with. Some days, you might be struggling and need to simply share with God the heavy burdens you feel. The point is, prayers change and it’s a blessing to have the freedom to come to Jesus as we are, with whatever is on our hearts.
I started a bullet-style prayer journal, where I simply write out Scripture, praises, gratitude, people and things I want to pray for, or simply whatever I feel moved to pray for that day. I also love being creative and using stickers, sticky notes, different pens, etc.
If you’re interested in trying out a prayer journal to help you keep record of your prayers, and help you be mindful of praying each day, I’ve shared some examples from my own journal below. I’ve also shared some of the resources I love using in my prayer journal.
If you start your own journal, please share on Instagram and tag me (@groundsandgrace)! Excited to build a more consistent and intentional time of prayer each day with you!
