Studying Scripture is not only effective and life-giving, but it’s completely necessary for our walk with the Lord.
“All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness.” -2 Timothy 3:16
My Scripture Journey
I used to be a luke-warm reader of the Bible. I read it…just to read it. There wasn’t any depth or breadth to my Scripture reading. Just reading for the sake of reading.
I remember the first year I decided to read through my entire Bible. I accomplished it and felt so proud of myself for doing so. However, I learned very little and didn’t feel any more equipped or strengthened in my faith or knowledge of God.
My faith was still pretty weak at that point and I felt like “doing things” (like reading my Bible) were what I should do as a believer.
As my faith and growth in the Lord began to grow and mature, I realized God’s Word wasn’t about me reading through it in a year or knowing a couple key verses. It was learning about God and knowing Him deeply.
His grace, love, mercy, faithfulness, promises, glory and His redemption.
Not long ago I began to realize that God’s character and the story of His redemption were written across the pages of Scripture. That’s why we need the Bible. That’s why we should seek His Word. To know Him better and to know how we can live for Him in a broken world.
Study with Me
Studying God’s Word has now become one of my absolute favorite things to do. I crave it. I need His instruction. I desire to truly know Him better.
I want to invite you to join me in studying the Word of God.
I’m getting ready to really dig into the book of Ephesians and I’d love you to dip deeply with me.
Here’s my reading plan for the next 30 days (feel free to save/screenshot the image for quick reference):
If you’d like to join my Facebook page, I’ll be posting inspiration and encouragement throughout the next 30 days as we read. My Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groundsandgrace/
I’m excited to see what God will reveal and teach us as we read through the book of Ephesians!
